Bhai Harpaul Singh from the Akal Academy at Baru Sahib, has been doing a tremendous amount of seva throughout the world by teaching Gurmukhi and Gurbani Santhiya. It is vital that in order to communicate with our Guru we must learn to read, speak, write and understand the script that has been gifted to us by Guru Ji. Only then will we truly be able to appreciate the Jewels contained within Gurbani.

Bhai Sahib is currently teaching the intensive 15 day course at GNG, he is teaching both Panjabi for beginners and also Gurbani Santhiya. Please take out half an hour a day and take advantage of these classes. For more info please call:

Bhai Sahib once again talks about the importance of Bani and Amrit, and also the etiquette observed during the Anand Karaj ceremony.

Sukrit Trust Programme This Sunday

We would like to inform you that this Sunday, the world-famous Sukrit Trust will be doing a special extended programme at the Gurdwara Sahib.

The Sukrit Trust specialises in connecting students with Gurbani and getting young people in Punjab into employment. They have numerous projects around the world.

They will be doing a programme that comprises of Kirtan and Katha from 10.30am to around 2pm this Sunday 17th July.

It is our humble request that all the sangat attends this event

Bhai Jarnail Singh visiting Gurdwaras in Bradford and Leeds – Sunday 12th June 2010

Saadh Sangat Ji,

We would like to inform you that the journalist Bhai Jarnail Singh will be visiting various Gurdwara’s in Bradford and Leeds on Sunday 12th June. For those who are not aware of Bhai Sahib, he is the journalist who in protest lobbed his shoe in the direction of the Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram during a press conference. His protest was due to the Home Ministers lack of response to Bhai Sahibs questions relating to the CBI’s “clean chit” for Jagdish Tytler in connection with the 1984 anti sikh riots.

Bhai Sahib stood up for the thousands of innocent sikhs that were brutally murdered in the riots, and wanted an explanation from the home minister as to how the perpetrators were able to walk away freely. Even today 27 years on the Sikhs have yet to see those individuals involved, bought to justice.

Bhai Sahib was fired from his post as defence correspondent for the Dainik Jagaran newspaper 3 months after the shoe incident. Since then Bhai Sahib has written a book on the 1984 riots titled “I accuse…”.

Bhai Sahib will be sharing his views on the riots, and the Sikhs ongoing fight for justice.

The schedule so far is as follows:

Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Bradford 10:00 am to 10:50am

Gurdwara Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Bradford 11:00 am to 11:50am

Gurdwara, Chapletown, Leeds 12:15pm to 1:00pm

It is our humble request that the sangat come out and support Bhai Sahib, just as he stood up for the victims of 1984. Please make time and attend the talks at the above Gurdwara Sahib’s.

In addition please note that the book “I accuse…” will be available on the day in both english and gurmukhi for £8.00, once again we can only humbly request that the sangat step forward and purchase a copy of the book.
