Gatka is the ancient Sikh martial art of fighting with swords. Gatka has been proven over many centuries of battle and is a real-world matial art that is quick to learn and use.
Classes are run for FREE at Guru Nanak Gurdwara, every Friday from 7:30pm to 9pm. Classes are NOT suitable for anyone under the age of 10.
Q: What’s covered? A: Fighting with sticks, swords, daggers, staffs and shields. Also covered: suppleness, flexibility, balance, multiple opponent fighting, strength of mind, focus and fearlessness. Teachings of the Sikh Gurus are also incorporated.
Q: Who is welcome? A: We have students of all ages (minimum 10 years through to adults), all races and backgrounds, both make and female.
Q: How many students do you have? A: We have over 20 students currently.
Q: How do I sign up? A: Just turn up on Friday at 7:30pm. Use the Khalsa Fitness entrance. Wear your sports outfit and trainers.
