Friday, June 25th, 2010

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Saadh Sangat Ji, due to huge demand, from this Sunday onwards (and every Sunday thereafter) there will be a Sikhi discussion/workshop (mostly in English but not aimed at young children) in the Darbar Sahib at GNG after the Sunday Divan – usually around 1pm.

The session will start with a discussion on the Hukamnama and then the floor will be open for a Q&A discussion.

This is an ideal opportunity to share & learn Sikhi. Please bring people you may know who would like to understand more about Sikhi. No pre-requisite knowledge is assumed.

The session will last just 1 hour.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Animated Movie – Now available at Guru Nanak Gurdwara

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

Guru Nanak Gurdwara has managed to obtain 50 DVD’s of the highly anticipated animated movie depicting the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji. Get your copy from the Gurdwara Sahib Library or email nandeepsingh@hotmail.com for only £8.  The DVD would make an ideal gift for kids, and would teach them about a golden period of Sikh Rule in India.

The film “ MAHARAJA –  The story of Ranjit Singh ” narrates the story of a warrior. The great warrior Maharaja Ranjit Singh, a prominent figure in Sikh history who established an independent “ Khalsa Raj ” for the first time in Punjab.  This film does not merely depict the historical facts but it also projects the valor and sacrifice of the people of Punjab.
This film also shows the origin of courage and royalty inherited in the people of Punjab
“ MAHARAJA – The story of Ranjit Singh ” is about a boy, who grew up to be the Great King. He possessed an extra ordinary power, the quality without which the highest success cannot be attained. It wasn’t an easy task to establish such a great and strong empire but Ranjit Singh made it possible.
This way the film shows heroism of the people of Punjab and the glory of Punjab at its peak. This glorious history is a treasure for generations to come and this film is an effort towards it.

Below is a trailer of the movie:
